Certificates and documents required for flight

The regulations require the pilot in command to carry specific certificates and documents while operating an aircraft. The airman certificate and an appropriate medical certificate must be available for presentation on request. Photo identification is additionally required under 49 CFR.

A student pilot additionally carries a logbook endorsement from an authorized instructor for solo flight in the specific make and model of aircraft. The endorsement is valid for 90 days.
